CONSECO TRUST-APPROVED
PA INSURANCE DEPT DELIVERS FATAL BLOW TO POLICYHOLDERS
YOUR LETTERS, POSTED HERE.

Dear Commissioner Ario,

I have 2 small children and 2 aging parents who have, for years been
paying into Long-Term Care so they can maintain their independence
later in life.  My parents turn 80 next year.

If you let this Trust go through, lacking the transparency that has
been promised, you set me up for the fight of my life, against my
parents' carrier by agreeing to Conseco's "bailout by policyholder".

The precedent setting Trust will harm so many Americans.

The Conseco plan is wrong and to me, it seems predatory and vicious.
It is not unlike the Unum Provident story in 2002 where the Hungry
Vultures literally denied claims to increase profits.  Fortunately,
negative ground swell and publicity against Unum forced the company to
make changes.  There was an internal reorganization, top management
was fired or resigned and the company is now held to a higher standard.

Maybe Conseco should be stripped of bad management, go into
bankruptcy and fix the problems it brought upon itself, not let our senior
citizens pay.

Please do not approve this Trust.

Sincerely,

Joy Y.
Sewickley, PA

Re: CONSECO Senior Health Insurance Company FORM A Filing

Dear Commissioner Ario:

I am writing about the plan Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company has submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance to move my Long-Term Care insurance policy into a “Trust.”

If Conseco will be making a one time contribution of $175 million to the trust and policyholders like me will be asked to contribute between $300 and $400 million in the form of future rate increases; how is this a good solution for senior citizens who are policyholders?

My rates have already been increased and increased and increased. This Trust will surely force most of us policyholders to lapse our policies because we cannot afford more increases.

I am concerned that any claim request I have will not be treated fairly once my policy is no longer backed by an insurance company.

Gambling with my financial security to save an insurance company from a bad investment cannot be allowed to proceed.

This Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company (CSHI) Trust is a very bad idea and I am opposed to it and ask you to disapprove it outright.

Respectfully,
